| Listing your server higher | |
Samuel Saminston ![]() 30th May 2014 16:05:47 | Hello all,
As the ATC Manager at FSX Global, i would love to get move pilots. I find that if i can get my server listed higher, we will get more pilots. However, looking at other servers, they all have a banner that you click on to visit the page and list them higher. Do I need a banner or not. Could i just post the link online? Thank You. |

You have a Host ID that is used to list your session higher. If you log in on the forum and visit http://fsopen.co.uk/downloads/fshost/ it will explain there. The key to getting more traffic isn't through having a session listed higher in the list, a great example is MSFlights. A fantastic server which is always full of pilots, yet they sit closer to the bottom than the top. This is a key example of good advertising and a good member base. The key to getting more members is to offer something unique, something different. Along with having a professional approach, good advertising and above all, a good reputation. It's always easy to assume that the higher you are, the busier you will get and the more traffic you will have. This usually isn't the case. The thing you don't want to do is to be listed high but offer a not too brilliant service. Before attempting to get listed higher, get your product where it needs to be. In your case as an ATC manager, make you you have controllers that actually know what they are doing, or if they don't make sure they rank themselves accordingly within flight strips. I hope this helps. The main key to having a good, busy server is to offer a good service and to build up a good reputation. Dave Bartlam FSXWorldwide |
