Sorry to make comments that may confuse regarding ports but when you sorted it out for me last year it was fine. I then bought a new computer I tried every way for my friends to connect to me without success until I used those ports. I would appreciate if you could explain to me how to connect using just the 6112-6122 ports only for future if I have problems. Thanks again, Ken |
Curley Campbell  8th Apr 2014 14:08:15 | The original port references you found were used for hosting by GameSpy. Since we can now only use multiplayer hosting via LAN (Direct Connect) and NOT GameSpy.... the extra port assignments are NO LONGER REQUIRED.
Not to say you cannot use other ports... However, IF you do.. others need to have the same ports also assigned on their machines to connect. Stick with the normal ports and it will be less confusing for all users; as 6112-6122 are already set on FSX LAN connection page by default. |
