Hi, instead of running 17 to 18 fsopen server. Why don't we only run 1 server and name it fsopen so we all can have experience and more ATC and with different aircraft.

To be honest, I can never see that happening.
Different servers have different communities, and different interests.
One server likes flying only Military ops, the other does short hops in Hawaii, the other is Europe only.
It would just result in a big mess.

There was a server called FSopen. It is now been renamed to http://www.fsxmultiplay.com/
Most of the original FSOpen team/players are there very experienced and with years of FSX Game play. A number of our members helped in the development of the FSopen software with ideas to help Dave in the making of FSopen software.
Why is there not an FSopen Sever now? Well this was due to Dave Wave wanting to make the FSOpen software open to everyone and that has been a real benefit to all.
It would be great if all the sessions were to merge under one server but this would require a massive investment in a server with great internet connection, technically possible. But, as Tony said above the agenda of the sessions, and sometimes the ego's of the persons running them makes this very different so this would be un-manageable.
The choice of so many sessions provides a choice and this is what we have today with many sessions to select from. So, go check out every session and find the one that is right for you to fly in.
You are always welcome in our session at FSXMultiplay.com
I think we should all say a big thank you to Dave Wave for his devotion to allowing us all the use the FSOpen software and his continued development process he delivers to us all.

Happen flying everyone.

Couldn't have put it any better myself. It works better this way. There are servers dedicated to air traffic control, military operations, short hops, virtual airlines and like mine, pilot training by real world regional air line pilots. It all completely depends on what you like or what you want to do.

For example, on my session, fsxworldwide, we see an influx of pilots join us on our dedicated atc, dangerous airports and our training nights. These pilots are not full time members to my session, but they come to us on these nights because they enjoy the services we offer and the levels of professionalism and realism they receive. And I certainly don't mind the fact these guys belong to other sessions and only fly with us on set days. That's the good thing about fsopen, there's a wide variety of servers offering different things.
