- Open your ports in your firewall
- Make sure you are using the default FSX Ports
- You should have the same Service Packs as the server, if the server only has SP1, you can't have SP2 installed. So best is to upgrade both to SP2

Can you ping your VPS?

Hello Amir,
From my experiance, the most important thing when hosting is your internet speed. You want to have a good upload speed to reduce player lag is session. Your specs are quite low to run FSX, but if it is just to host, it may be possible.

Kind Regards,

I was going to post this in another thread... so, now that you brought it up.... "to my knowledge" FSX will NOT run on a VPS, cloud server, or "normal" server. FSX MUST have a graphics card to run.. and it does NOT carrier any "server" license.. for either WIN2003, 2008, or 2012 server.
This was my findings after many many hours.. and several direct conversations with Microsoft. You should be getting a error notification of failure due to "no server license agreement." I would expect the "no graphic card" error.. simply because none of the above actually have a graphic card installed.

If.. any one is actually hosting an MP FSX session via one of the above methods.. I would be interested in the details. I could save myself $$$$$ on my monthly hosting costs.

Reminding you... that hosting with a PC at some IP site (or other location with an internet connection.. is fine (as it will normally have a graphic card installed w/no monitor attached)... and some people do that (me for example)... BUT... not from an actual "rack mount" server or virtual server.
