Peter Taylor  8th May 2013 13:42:07 | Is there a way of connecting FSX to FSOpen via URL instead of IP address?
I have a friend in China and the only way to access a site outside of China (unless it's on a whitelist) is via URL. He can ping external sites but only by namestring (URL) not IP (numerical). Effectively, people in China are on a very large LAN. Comments or suggestion gratefully accepted. |

Sadly they have not included the ability to insert a host name! Silly Microsoft, this would have made life a lot easier for all of us! Hopefully that answers your question. I imagine its the not answer you was hoping for! Regards Joe |

You're right, it wasn't what I wanted but it was what I rather expected. I suspect my friend is rather alone in the paddy fields. Never know - some solution may crop up. Thanks again, Peter |
