| Multiplayer friends list | |
David Altman   9th Jan 2013 04:18:36 | FSopen is an awesome list of ip servers available. What we are lacking is a way for us to create a friends list again so that we can see when they are on and in what session. When game spy pulled the plug - poof -- all of our friends disappeared. After 3 weeks i have only found 1 here on Fsopen. Could some server guru at FSOPEN write a program for finding mulitplayer friends and the session they are in? It would also be nice to have a private chat window so that we could better communicate with them too. I would even pay for a program like that. one more thing could you advertise FSOPEN more on places like flightsim.com and simviation.com so that others around the world can find FSOPEN.com? |
Dave Wave   9th Jan 2013 07:48:04 | Nice idea but there is no way of knowing who most players are. Besides I think a lot of us hated the dreaded friends request that would cause chat to time out and close!
I have spent some considerable time advertising the site, especially soon after GameSpy stopped working. I know rely on users like yourself advertising the site. It looks better then me ranting on all the time! ps. the domain is co.uk not com. |

Best way to keep your own personal "friends list" would be to use SKYPE, in my opinion. P.S. Dave, I "rant" on your session list... everyday. It is the most complete list available and a link is made available at the top of my website homepage... Keep up the good work ! |

I was going to suggest Skype too. No point re-inventing the wheel. |

They want you to notice and respond to them. And I never minded an intrusion on chat I figured someone (probably a noobie) might want to learn something about flying and I could help them. Im not a programmer and dont have a clue how to create a simple program to find former gamespy friends on line. Thats why I was hoping some kind guru on the forum could help at least create a Who s on line page. But maybe im dreaming at restoring these gamespy friends list and chat with private chat is impossible. If so the memorial for my lost friends is a fly in at the Egyptian pyramids at 12:00 zulu Sunday
