| Server time info icon no longer displaying time of day | |
Robert Dunn 3rd Jan 2013 03:03:19 | The most handy and much used server time of day in the information icon in sessions is no longer displayed after update to FSOpen version .86. We at msFLIGHTS.net set a custom server time of day and, in conjunction with Wingman's useful daylightmap.com suggestion, we found your server time of day information very useful. We hope to see time of day back in sessions information soon.

Dave Wave ![]() 3rd Jan 2013 08:15:10 | It's not 86 that's killed it. It seems to be an intermittent feature for some sessions. It's taking some time to track down as it always works on my test machines. |
Dave Wave ![]() 4th Jan 2013 11:19:50 | Found the problem Robert, it was due to entering January rather then a version update and the database just ignoring the problem rather then flagging an error as I'd expect.
Version 0.88 now handles dates properly. I also got permission to use the code from the day/night google map guy but it's a bit out of date and very resource intensive. |
Dave Wave ![]() 4th Jan 2013 18:13:00 | Did it another way instead,
Make sure you upgrade to the latest version of open server and you'll now have night and day on the maps. |
Dave Wave ![]() 4th Jan 2013 18:31:21 | Just to add, night day is shown on all the maps but it will be wrong until you're on open server 0.89 or later. |
Robert Dunn 4th Jan 2013 23:11:23 | While I'm sorry to read of the resource intensiveness, we're just tickled pink at the visual impact and the useful information graphically presented. Please accept our heartfelt appreciation for this wonderful addition to the FSOpen features, Mr. Wave. |
