| Instant messaging in sessions | |
Dave Wave   30th Dec 2012 12:44:15 | I think I've worked out how to allow users to send messages between each other in a session. i.e. To communicate between Flight strips and pilot assistant.
This could be useful for ATC to confirm a message to a pilot or possibly allow players without voice to talk to ATC. Anyone got any ideas on how you'd like to see this work? |

That's an excellent idea. Could you put a chat box inside the pilot's strip in flight strips? Another question on flight strips - on older versions you could hover your mouse over a players strip and player id, airport info & aircraft info would appear. The new version doesn't. Mouse over behaviour should not have changed, I'll check when I get in there. |

I had this type of idea working when BVA where running my stuff. I had an option within the pilot client that allowed them to choose from a list of memebers in the session. It then displayed on the pilots screen in a green box at the top of FSX. I had started to incorperate it into the ATC client aswell. It was as you have suggested an input box that was linked to a button that said 'poke pilot'. 
it would be good to see this as a feature as even though there wasnt a chance for all memebers to use it. Those that tested it found it very helpful! Regards Joe |

Might test ATC to ATC first as can just test with just changing flight strips. Propose admins get a feature to message everyone in a session. How many of you would use this to provide ATC to pilots with no voice? |

Mouse over the aircraft type will expand that info. I don't think anything has changed. Are you using Windows 8? Progress on messaging is coming on, should have flight strips enabled by this week for ATC to ATC communication at least. |

The mouse hover must be a problem on my end. I'm using WIN7 64-bit, tried the WIN8 but it's not for me (sure 8 will be good for someone....maybe) Thank you |

Winows 7 has a known bug that makes info boxes and mostly drop-down boxes buggy when it's on top of a program that is generating fps ;) |
