Geoff Brayshaw ![]() 15th Dec 2012 16:11:13 | Does anyone know the ICAO for London Control in flight strip? EGTT shows as invalid code. |
Joe Clifford ![]() 15th Dec 2012 18:33:32 | Hi Geoff,
London Control is EGTT , however, it is (to my knowledge) no longer in Flight Strips. Disappeared quite a while ago. Joe |
Geoff Brayshaw ![]() 15th Dec 2012 19:05:04 | Thanks Joe, are you going to ask Dave or shall I? lol. |
Joe Clifford ![]() 15th Dec 2012 19:14:04 | Fire away sir |
Geoff Brayshaw ![]() 16th Dec 2012 11:42:29 | Dave, any chance of the EGTT ICAO for flightstrip to display as London Control? |
Dave Wave ![]() 16th Dec 2012 13:35:34 | There is a good technical reason why egtt (and similar) were removed.
I'll put it on the list. |
Dave Wave ![]() 17th Dec 2012 10:06:38 | OK, rather then just EGTT can anybody point me to where I can get a world wide list of such codes? Ideally to be accompanies by Lat/Lon boundaries so I can incorporate on maps?

Joe Clifford ![]() 17th Dec 2012 13:34:14 | Hello,
The UK area control sectors are depicted here on VATSim. http://www.vatsim-uk.co.uk/website/area-sectors/ Ill reference the fixes to some documents I have and if I find them ill let you know Joe |
Christian Smith ![]() 20th Dec 2012 14:28:42 | To my knowledge, no.
This airspace overview would give you what you were looking for with regards to area coordinates, but you'd need to know which sectors fell under which areas. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B8gpU8r34_9ScG0yOEtid0dTTG1LZDltNVQ0NDk1QQ VATSpy would provide rough outlines of these sectors, which are the governing areas only, here is a snap shot over europe:

Dave Wave ![]() 20th Dec 2012 15:56:25 | I was just trying to find this myself. So what we need is worldwide FIR's. Found this which is a good start http://www.theairlinepilots.com/flightplanningforairlinepilots/icaofirlist.htm It would be really nice to have Lat/Long boundaries for these areas so I could add to our google maps. Found a great place that displays them but can't find anywhere to get the raw data. http://www.arcgis.com/explorer/?open=724dfc8916604483a0ab06b4f3cbe57f If anybody can help with getting hold of the raw geopoints that would be great. (Avsim IVAO contacts anyone? :) |
Joe Clifford ![]() 20th Dec 2012 16:29:50 | This May be Of Help Dave, Ill Keep Looking For More. This ones a bit difficult to read.

Joe Clifford ![]() 20th Dec 2012 16:34:56 | Also detailed here, still not easy to read

Dave Wave ![]() 21st Dec 2012 09:21:31 | Couldn't see any international FIRs in those Joe. |
Joe Clifford ![]() 21st Dec 2012 10:22:20 | Here you go
http://soaringweb.org/Airspace/ |
Dave Wave ![]() 21st Dec 2012 10:45:42 | All I get is detail for each fir, I'm looking for all fir boundaries in one file. Just the firs with ICAO code and lat/long points.
|
Dave Wave ![]() 21st Dec 2012 17:21:45 | Version 1.63 of flight strips adds ability to start a FIR position.
Also added new positions of delivery, departure, Approach and Director. Version 0.83 of open server will show fir descriptions otherwise you'll just see the code in chat. FIRs will not show on maps. 4 Hours work to get EGTT in, no wonder I'd left it alone! |
